Dear All,

Welcome to the new web site for hard hitting analyses and exclusive photos of the issue you've all been waiting for -- us. As you've noticed, we've decided to focus more on our online presence and gone with our own domain name. For those interested, we plan to go public in about 3 weeks, so look to order T-shirts and mugs with our logo next time!

Well, the big news is obviously Nathan's new kicks that he's wearing (see photo below), but besides that, he's also got a new brother!! Yep, on March 19, 2000 at 4:54 pm, Connor Patrick Foss came into the world. Weighing in at 7 lbs and 11.2 oz and measuring a staggering 19.5 inches, Connor was born almost a pound heavier and an inch longer than his big brother. Could be trouble down the line. . .

As with Nathan, Rita did magnificently. Although we were at the hospital for about 2 hours before delivery (a whole 1 hour 40 minutes longer than last time!), we figure that the labor process was about like last time -- 6 hours or so. From what I hear, that's not too bad, but to be honest, it's about 5:59 longer than I could have taken it. Anyway, Rita again chose to go with a natural child birth (I asked for drugs), and everything went fine.

'Bout time you came out!
Nathan's usual smile
"I wanna be just like you, Dad"

Sibling Rivalry or Dynamic Duo?

So far, no bloodshed. Actually, Nathan has been incredible around Connor. Within an hour of the delivery, Nate and his grandparents brought in some birthday cake to Connor, and, being the caring brother he is, Nate promptly ate Connor's piece for him. What a guy!

I do keep waiting for Nate to turn to me and ask, "So, Dad, when does he go back?", but so far so good. Instead we've heard:

"If Connor is sad, I'll make funny faces to make him happy"

"I love you whole bunches, Connor", and my personal favorite,

"Hey! Where's the Con man?!" (seriously, he said this)

Unfortunately, there are warning signs such as at lunch this week: "I'm a big boy. Connor can't have my pizza 'cuz he's just a baby." Very cute now, but in a few years . . .

What a ham
"Did you know the human head weighs eight pounds?"
What's up dude

Family Highlights

Couple of key events and activities from our families . . .

  • Mike Lataille: In May, Mike will graduate with his SECOND Masters degree. (Come to think of it, Rita has her Masters, Mike has two, Yvonne and Mike Joy have MBAs, and I have ... well, nevermind . . .)
  • Patrick & Nobuko Foss: Nobuko is still working hard at the museum and at Patrick's ego. (He now has his New York agent and his Hollywood agent trying to publish/produce his book) Supposedly he keeps shouting out "Bring it on John Grisham!", "You got nothin' Stephen King!", and "Get me George Lucas's number!"

Guess which movie
Rooaaaar!
Woo-HOO!

Many have asked, "So, what's going to happen now that the baby is here?" Well, in a nutshell . .

  • Rita is going to take a leave of absence from the government and hang with her boys for a while;
  • I'm going to run with my new company (AmericanEagle.com) and see where that leads (my boss thinks I'm in for the long haul, but as soon as I make $12 million, I'm out -- shhh don't tell him);
  • We're getting a dog! (when? I don't know, but by God we're getting one!);
  • Lose miserably on all of my NCAA pools;
  • We're shooting to have Connor baptized shortly after Easter (Godparents are Connie Lataille, the next Internet wunderkid, and Lee Colglazier, the 21st century's Medical Man of the Century)
  • Probably buy a house next summer; and,
  • Enjoy our two little boys as much as possible!

Again, the Nathan smile
