Dear All,

Well, Nate is officially 3, so I thought we could catch you up on his and Connor's adventures. From Halloween to the Big Birthday, here's what we've been up too...

Check out the Lataille Reunion 2000 Page!

Well, back in October, Rita was wandering around singing "It's the most wonderful time of the year . . .", but she wasn't talking about Christmas. No, Rita's favorite holiday is, of course, Halloween! This is when she devotes her life (and everyone else's!) to a making the best costumes around. Check out the Nate-man's costume -- she made that thing from scratch (I can't even sew on a button!). As you can tell, this year's theme was Toy Story. She even made me dress up as Mr. Potato Head -- with movable features and everything.

I don't even fight it anymore...

Aunt Mel (in last year's theme) and Buzz and Woody "Reach for the sky..." "To Infinity . . . and beyond!"

This year for Thanksgiving, Rita's side of the family all decided to gather in St. Louis to celebrate together. All of Roland and Eileen's children and spouses and grandchildren made it in for this special event. All told, we had:

Roland & Eileen
Michael Lataille Dave & Connie Lataille Yvonne & Mike Joy Chris & Rita Foss
David (8), Andrew (3) Timothy (1), Matthew (1) Nathan (3), Connor (.8)

Yvonne and Mike did a lot of the hosting at their place, and they cooked us all a FANTASTIC Thanksgiving Day dinner! Because we were all together, we decided to celebrate Christmas and a few birthdays, so there was a lot of present opening going on as well. All of Nate's "loot" made for an easier trip home.

All the cousins.
All boys!!!
The adults needed some down time, so guess what movie they are watching. Prizes to the one who can pick out the biggest kid in the picture!

Make sure to check out the Lataille Reunion 2000 page for more photos!

Chillin' like a couple of villains The Con Man already beginning his life of crime... stealing cookies! Hangin' with Crazy Uncle Bill at the Children's Museum.

Some other activities and news over the past few months included the marriage of some good friends and family -- Matt and Eunice Donovan and Shannon (Garvey) and Keegan. Nathan was the ring bearer for the Donovan wedding and looked SUPER COOL in his tux. Sorry Matt, but I think I saw Eunice flirting with both Nate and Connor behind your back!

Shannon (Chris's cousin) and Keegan's wedding was great too! A lot of the Garvey side of the family was able to gather in Atlanta for this joyous occasion, so we were able to use it as a mini-reunion as well.

Other than that, we've just been keeping busy! Some vital stats . . .

  • Connor is now crawling and pulling himself into a standing position
  • Rita is into repainting our entire house (thanks a lot Greg and Amanda)
  • Nathan occasionally spontaneously combusts
  • Rita makes the best cookies this side of Neptune
  • Chris refuses to accept the fact that he's getting old
  • Nate honestly believes that we regularly eat dinner on the moon
  • Connor's first word/sound was mama, but it took him another 2 1/2 months to come up with dada
  • Nate LOVES the cartoon Grinch but had to leave the theater when faced with Jim Carey's version
  • Chris refuses to believe that anyone in the world likes to eat peas (they've all just been brainwashed)
  • Rita is already thinking about next year's Halloween costumes
  • Connor likes to give everybody hugs
  • Nate can't stand when Connor hugs him
  • and finally, we open presents on Christmas MORNING (not after midnight mass) regardless of what Rita may or may not want!!!

Not sure if Nate is helping Blue give Connor a kiss... or whacking him in the head! Tina and the Wall kids trying to corrupt our boys. "I am sooooo cute"
