Dear All,
Whew! It's been a busy summer of travels and visitors,
so instead of my usual round of apologies for delaying the site updates,
we're diving straight into this update's theme:
The FFFP - Foss Family and Friends Photos!
Check out the Foss Family Cruise
Page!
Well, let's start off with the crazy side of the family . . . Rita's
side!

 |
| Here's
Nate reading Memere a bedtime story! |
"No
Uncle Mike, I'm not bored. Really. Seriously...zzzzz"
|
And
Connor putting Pepere to sleep. Shhhh. |
We were very happy that Rita's folks and brother Mike were able to
make it out for Connor's baptism (no comments about how long ago that
was!). And just a short time later, Yvonne, Mike and the twins came
to visit! Everybody had a great time, and Rita and I were happy that
Connor could meet everyone.
Now let's see, I guess that's everybody! No wait ... I guess there
is just ONE family of the immediate Lataille clan that STILL needs to
come out and visit (hint, hint).
Seriously, we can't wait to see Rita's brother and family (hopefully!)
this fall. We're especially excited to introduce Connie to Connor, her
new Godson!

 |
 |
| "Aunt
Yvonne, do you think Mom will EVER let me get a puppy?"
|
To
visit Nate and Connor's cousins, check out the Joys
Boys Page! |
"Hey
Uncle Mike, how can we give Mom a heart attack? |
The big news: Grammie turned 75!!!
The bigger news: The Fosses had a HUGE family reunion and celebrated
with a Caribbean Cruise!
That's right, some 32 members of the Foss clan all got together and
celebrated Grammie's 75th on a cruise to the Bahamas. Needless to say,
we had a great time (although I feel sorry for the other passengers.
Some of those Fosses -- not mentioning any names Warren, Sue, Wood,
Margie . . . -- can get pretty rowdy!!) Seriously, a great time was
had by all and about a billion photos were taken. We've posted our favorites
on our SPECIAL CRUISE PAGE, so Fosses,
check them out and let us know if you want copies.
Some Samples . . .

Nate with Aunt Teresa, Aunt Mel and The Godfather (Yes, we still
have to call him that!) |
How's
that for a picture - Great Grammie and her Great Grandson!
|
As with the other two sections, I'm sure that we've left people out
of here, but we either didn't have a good photo, or, let's be honest,
we don't really like you that much ;)

| Nate
and Brendan - trouble just waitin' to grow up! |
Check
out THESE friends! |
Crazy
Uncle Bill with Connor, Alecazam, and Nate. |
OK, enough about everybody else . . . back to us.
In short, we've been pretty busy but have been loving every minute of
it. Connor has kept fairly busy excelling at his baby responsibilities:
eating, sleeping, burping, and dirtying diapers. Now that he is five
months old, he's also rolling around, eating some cereal, giggling at
Nate all the time, and generally being a cutie.
Like Nate was, Connor is a very good natured baby -- as long as Nate
is around, Connor is happy. Once, Connor was laying on his back on the
floor and Nate decided to step right over him. For some reason, this
turned out to be the funniest thing Connor had ever seen, and he began
shrieking with laughter. Of course, this encouraged Nate to continue,
so he kept going back and forth and entertained Connor for a solid 10
minutes. And then Nate slipped and stepped on him . . .
As for the Nate-man, I'm fairly certain that he is already smarter than
I am. I knew it wouldn't take long, but I thought I could hold him off
until at least 5! In additional to being a phenomenal baseball player
(pretty much every hit is followed by a loud "Hooooome Ruuuuun!!"
. . . even when it goes behind him), the boy regularly authors original
haikus and often constructs quantum computers using his legos and a
mirror. OK, so that might be a bit of an exaggeration, but he does have
a couple of books memorized and "reads" them to us all the
time. VERY cute.
And Rita and me? Well, Rita is certainly enjoying her time at home,
although it seems that the government, and life in America as we know
it, cannot survive without her. It looks like she will do some part-time
work on short-term projects every now and then. Needless to say, this
would be great for a number of reasons: 1) she gets to stay in the "work"
loop, 2) she gets some adult interaction to keep her busy, 3) we get
some extra $$ for my beer funds, and 4) I get to keep my hopes alive
of her returning to work and me hanging out with the boys by the pool
all day! Oh yeah, did I mention she graduated?
Yep, Rita received her Master's Degree in Management of Information
Systems Technology from George Washington University in May and was
congratulated personally by Secretary of State Albright. (Well, yes,
Albright was the commencement speaker and there were a lot of students
there, but I'm pretty sure she was talking directly to Rita). Me? Nothing
exciting. Still enjoying my work at AmericanEagle.com and hanging out
with this super-cool family I was somehow blessed with!
And because it has been so long since the last update, some extra pictures
that I couldn't help but post...

| Awwwwwww

That's
"Doc Con-man" to you! |
My
next project manager? |
I promise you, this next picture WAS NOT posed. We were
on the cruise and a bunch of us were at the back of the boat enjoying
the sunset. I turn around and there is Nate, laying down watching these
guys play hoops. I'm thinking of sending the photo into the NBA -- "I
love this game!"
